ROTTERDAM, The Netherlands, April 29–The closing day of the European Championships for Dressage with the Grand Prix Freestyle as the highlight is a sell-out four months before the event in Rotterdam Aug. 17-21.

An update from the organizers said that tickets for the other days of the 2011 championships can still be ordered at www.ecdressage2011.com, although tickets for the Saturday program are limited. All-show passes are no longer available.

“It is going to be an enormous event here in Rotterdam,” said Frans Lavooij, president of the organizing committee. “I expect the tickets for the other days, specially the Saturday Grand Prix, will sell out soon. And that, almost four months before the event actually starts. We received ticket orders from all over Europe, it seems everyone wants to be there when the new European champion is crowned.”

“Excellent that all tickets for the Sunday program are sold. That means people support the event. Not only here in the Netherlands but also in the rest of Europe,” said Heleen Crielaard, head of sponsoring at Rabobank.

The FEI European Dressage Championships 2011 will attract the best European riders and horses to the Kralingse Bos in Rotterdam.

In an effort to increase exposure of equestrian sports, particularly dressage, organizers have scheduled many courses, workshops and other side events before and during the championships will enable this. The Royal Dutch Equestrian Federation, City of Rotterdam, Rotterdam Topsport and the CHIO Rotterdam are implementing the championships and associated events, supported Rabobank Netherlands as the main sponsor.
