WELLINGTON, Florida, Mar. 9–Sam’t Und Seide, a 10-year-old Sandro Hit mare, will be trained and competed by Steffen Peters in California.
The black Westphalen mare is owned by Carol Cohen, the owner of Two Swans Farm in Wellington and the venue for regular clinics by Steffen Peters of San Diego, California. Two Swans’ trainer, John Zopatti, had ridden Sam’t Und Seide with Steffen in the clinics and was schooling the Grand Prix movements.
John had not competed the horse at international level.
Sam’t Und Seide, by Sandro Hit out of Donnerfee by Donnerhall, was bought by Carol at the auction in Münster, Germany for €95,000 (about US$125,00 at the time) in 2004.
The mare was bred by Barbara Siemon of Gutersloh, Germany.
She will fly to California with Ravel whom Steffen is competing this week at the World Dressage Masters.
