AMSTERDAM, Jan. 22–Adelinde Cornelissen and Jerich Parzival won the Amsterdam CDI-W Freestyle Saturday for their third straight World Cup qualifying victory in the seventh of 10 events in the winter series.

The score by the Dutch combination of 81.475 per cent was just one percentage point higher than Germany’s Isabell Werth and Warum Nicht FRH on 80.475 per cent with Sweden’s Patrik Kittel on Watermill Scandic H.B.C. in third place on 79.000 per cent.

Adelinde and the 14-year-old Dutch chestnut gelding, second in the FEI world rankings behind Edward Gal and Moorlands Totilas though that horse was sold to Germany more than three months ago, won qualifiers at Stockholm and London Olympia in 2010.

Adelinde said she plans to compete Parzival at Gothenburg, Sweden, Feb. 24-27, which is sandwiched between the other two remaining World Cup events–Neumünster, Germany Feb. 17-20 and ‘s-Hertogenbosch, Netherlands, Mar. 24-27.

The final is in Leipzig, Germany, April 27-May 1, the first time for finals in three world cups, the other two being jumping and driving.

Isabell’s runnerup finish moves her to the top of the Western European League standings, tied with fellow German Ulla Salzgeber on 74 points. Great Britain’s Richard Davison on Artemis, who finished fourth on 77.150 per cent on Saturday, moves up to third place with 68 points in the standings while Adelinde and Parzival are in fourth place with 63 points–three victories for 20 points each on Parzival and three points for her second Grand Prix horse, Wunstraum at Lyon, France.
