LAUSANNE, Switzerland, Nov. 26–The FEI Equine Prohibited Substances mobile phone app is now available for Android smartphones three weeks sinces its launching for the iPhone.

The mobile application provides fast and easy access to crucial information on prohibited substances.

More than 2,000 downloads of the iPhone app have been made worldwide since the launch early in November. It is featured third on the iTunes Store “New and Noteworthy” section.

The official FEI Android version is available immediately on Android phones with version 2.2 or later operating system and can be downloaded from the Google Android Market.

The apps enable users to navigate the Equine Prohibited Substances database featured on the FEI website since April, 2010.  When a searchable term is entered, a short definition of the substance appears, accompanied by its FEI classification and common trade names. A feedback function with automatic email acknowledgment allows users to seek further advice or clarification.

Users need download the app once as the online database will be automatically updated to incorporate new substances.

An app was developed earlier this year for FEI Dressage Tests for Eventing, Dressage and Para-Dressage.
