STUTTGART, Germany, Nov. 20–Isabell Werth and Satchmo won the German Masters Grand Prix Freestyle in an electric atmosphere in the packed stadium on Saturday, the sixth time she has won the prestigious CDI5*.
Isabell and her 2008 Olympic team gold medal mount scored 82.800 per cent, their highest marks since the Exquis World Dressage Masters in Munich in 2009, and to lead the same order of finish at the top as the Grand Prix.
Ulla Salzgeber on Herzruf’s Erbe posted their personal best with 79.850 per cent for second place.
Hubertus Schmidt on Dark Diamond 22, was third on 76.400 per cent in the first ever international competition for the nine-year-old Westphalen mare owned by Diamante Farm of Wellington, Florida.
The 41-year-old mother said: “I am very, very satisfied, happy and elated – and today was pure fun, it was easy.
“The atmosphere was something special today. I thank the great audience.”
The five-time Olympic champion won €8,000 (US$10,900) in prize money, while Ulla won €6,000 (US$8,200) and Hubertus €3,500 (US$4,800).

In the Grand Prix for the Special earlier Saturday, Austria’s Victoria Max-Theurer on Augustin OLD aws the winner with 75.149 per cent while Isabell on El Santo NRW was second on 74.851 per cent and Edward Gal on Sisther de Jeu was third on 73.234 per cent.
