ODENSE, Denmark, Oct. 21–Germany’s Isabell Werth on First Class 53 won the Grand Prix CDI3* Tryg Cup Thursday to qualify for the Special at the JBK Horse Shows that features the first World Cup qualifier in the highly competitive West European League for 2010/2011.
Isabell and the 11-year-old gelding scored 69.787 per cent while Denmark’s Nathalie zu Sayn-Wittgenstein on Rigoletto were close behind on 69.319 per cent and fellow Dane Andreas Helgstrand on Polka Hit Nexen, an eight-year-old mare, in third place on 68.170 per cent.
On Don Johnson, Isabell also won the Prix St. George, sponsored by Dressurens Venner, with a score of 72.894 per cent while second place went to Dane Sune Laust Hansen on Blue Hors Rush Hour for a score of 72.421 per cent and Dutch rider Hans Peter Minderhoud riding Johnson was third on 71.210 per cent.
