DEVON, Pennsylvania, Oct. 2–Catherine Haddad and Winyamaro won the Grand Prix for the freestyle with 68.426 per cent at Dressage at Devon Friday, while Shawna Harding and Come On III won the Grand Prix for the Special.
Catherine is competing in the U.S. for the first time in several years after traveling from her German base to Gladstone, New Jersey to qualify for the U.S. team for the World Equestrian Games. She was the team reserve.
This was the first time the expatriate has heard her national anthem on U.S. soil in more than a decade. “I’m really, really happy to be home,” she said. “It felt great!”
Joe Sandven on Rachmaninoff was second on 67.106 per cent and Ute Busse on Lindor’s Finest was third with 64.766 per cent.
In the Grand Prix for the Special, Shawna Harding and Come On scored 65.149 per cent with Tina Irwin on Amicelli on 64.426 per cent and Alex Robertson on Santos Utopia in third with 63.362 per cent.
