LIPICA, Slovenia, May 29–Great Britain’s Richard Davison rode Artemis to victory in the Grand Prix qualifying for the Freestyle at the Lipica CDI-W World Cup event, while Germany’s Uta Gräf on Le Noir continued her winning ways Saturday with Grand Prix Special. A record 128 riders from 20 nations are competing at Lipica.
Richard and the 11-year-old gelding that is developing into a top competition mount were scored at 70.681 per cent, with Poland’s Michal Rapcewicz on Randon second on 70.085 per cent and Austria’s Peter Gmoser on Cointreau third on 67.617 per cent.
In the Grand Prix Special, Uta and Le Noir scored 67.875 per cent with Italy’s Susanna Bordone on Dark Surprise second with 65.833 per cent and France’s Arnaud Serre on Helio II third with 66.681 per cent 64.667 per cent. The Grand prix qualifying for the Special, Uta and Le Noir scored 67.872 per cent with Austria’s Christian Schumach and Auheim’s Da Vinci 38 second on 66.936 per cent and Arnaud Serre on Helio II third with 66.681 per cent.
Australia’s Hayley Beresford, based in Europe, had a successful day finishing fourth with 67.489 per cent on Relampago Do Retiro in the Grand Prix for the Freestyle and in fifth place with 65.234 per cent on Ferra in the Grand Prix for the Special.
