WELLINGTON, Florida, May 23–International best selling author Tami Hoag is moving fulltime to Wellington from the Southern California beachfront community of Malibu to pursue her passion for dressage.

Tami, riding in a clinic with Steffen Peters at Two Swans Farm in Wellington, told dressage-news.com she was tired of the “gypsy life” of living for six months on each coast and shipping her horses twice a year.

Another factor, she said, was that the infrastructure for care and training of horses in Wellington was extensive and high quality.

Originally from the Midwest, she has maintained homes in Malibu and Wellington and has boarded her horses for years in both areas.

She is a competitive Grand Prix rider.

Tami said that she is already working on a new book.

”Deeper than the Dead” was her latest mystery novel that went on sale in the United States at the end pf 2009 and became her 15th novel to make it to The New York Times best seller list. Among them was “Dark Horse,” centered around the equestrian scene in Wellington.

Wellington is home to the Winter Equestrian Festival, the world’s largest horse show with about 2,000 jumper, hunter and dressage horses competing each week over the longest running show at 12 consecutive weeks. There are at least four CDI3* competitions and an Exquis World Dressage Masters 5* event each winter. The community also hosts a top polo circuit.
