STADL PAURA, Austria, Apr. 5–Austrian star Victoria Max-Theurer on the 12-year-old stallion Eichendorff won the Grand Prix Kür Monday in the Stadl Paura CDI3* after Germany’s Ulla Salzgeber and her 10-year-old mare Wakana posted convincing wins in the Grand Prix Special.

In the Grand Prix Kür, Victoria and Eichendorff were scored at 75.050 per cent, Ulrike Prunthaller and Bartigut’s Harvard of Austria were second on 72.700 per cent and Germany’s Franz Trischberger on Bourbon K third with 69.500 per cent.

The placing were the same in the Grand Prix for the Kür on Sunday, with Victoria and Eichendorff finishing first with 69.872 per cent, Ulrike and Bartigut’s Harvard second on 66.936 per cent and Franz on Bourbon K third on 65.574 per cent.

In the Grand Prix for the Special on Saturday, Ulla and Wakana placed first with 71.319 per cent over Ireland’s Anna Merveldt and Coryolano with 68.936 per cent in second place and Germany’s Anna-Katharina Lüttgen and Lamborghini 64 third with 64 68.213 per cent.

In the Special on Sunday, the order of finish was the same with Ulla and Wakana scoring 72.375 per cent, Anna and Coryolano  70.083 per cent and Anna-Kartharina and Lamborghini third on 69.250 per cent.

Ulla and Wakana had a shaky start to the year when they were eliminated at the Exquis World Dressage Masters CDI5* at Palm Beach when the mare did not want to start the Grand Prix Special for which the pair were the hot favorites. Just two weeks later at Dortmund, Germany, they scored more than 70 per cent in the Grand Prix.
