BURBANK, California, Apr. 2–Jan Ebeling filled the the top two places with the mares Rafalca and Sandrina in the Grand Prix at the Festival of the Horse CDI3* in Burbank, then followed up by winning the Grand Prix Musical Freestyle with Sandrina.
In the Grand Prix, Jan. of Moorpark, California, and the 13-year-old Rafalca scored 67.532 per cent while the 12-year-old Sandrina was awarded 67.064 per cent. Both Oldenburg horses are owned by Anne Romney.
Guenter Seidel of Cardiff, California, and the nine-year-old Dutch gelding U II, owned by Dick and Jane Brown, scored 66.085 per cent, with one judge awarding a low of 62.340 per cent and another a high of 69.149 per cent.
In the Grand Prix Special, Guenter and U II scored 69.875 per cent to take first place with Jan and Rafalca on 68.167 per cent for second and Elizabeth Ball and Orion in third with 63.583 per cent.
Jan and Sandrina won the Grand Prix Musical Freestyle with a score of 70.850 per cent, with Jo Moran and Minna second with 65.800 per cent with Kathy Pavlich and Komo third with 65.750 per cent.
In the CDI small tour, Steffen Peters of San Diego, California, rode Pallas to win the Prix St. Georges with 70.351 per cent and the Intermediaire I with 71.491 per cent.
