ALLENTOWN, New Jersey, Mar. 2–The longtime Memorial Weekend dressage competition of the Eastern States Dressage and Combined Training Association has applied to upgrade to a CDI3* event May 27-30.
The event is organized by ESDCTA with Centerline Events and will be held at the Horse Park of New Jersey in Allentown. Prize list is available at www.centerlineevents.com.
The ESDCTA CDI is being added to the schedule following the cancellation of the CDI-W in Raleigh, North Carolina, that was scheduled for the first week of June and is a frequent stopover for competitors returning north from the Florida winter circuit.
Only CDIs can be used to qualify for the U.S. Grand Prix National Championships–and this year to win a place in the selection trials for the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games in Kentucky–at the Festival of Champions at Gladstone, New Jersey, in August.
Horse Park management is in the midst of a three-year program to upgrade competition and arena footing.
