LAUSANNE, Switzerland, Oct. 16–Canada’s Cheryl Meisner and Paganini remained atop the latest FEI World Cup North American League standings released by the International Equestrian Federation.
With an average of 72.583 per cent of their top three results that are required in the North American League, Cheryl of Blandford, Nova Scotia, remains slightly ahead of Lauren Sammis and Sagacious HF of South Orange, New Jersey whose average of her three results is 72.116 per cent and Canadian Jacqueline Brooks on 71/216 per cent in third place.
However, with three more qualifying events to go–all in Florida’s Palm Beach winter circuit–major changes could occur. As no World Cup competitions are scheduled for the U.S. West Coast, the major opportunities are in Florida.
World Cup veteran Leslie Morse of Beverly Hills, California, is considering competing with her Tip Top in the three Florida events or going to Europe.
World Cup title holder Steffen Peters of San Diego, California, is undecided on his schedule that requires two starts in World Cup classes with Ravel to qualify for the final in ‘s-Hertogenbosch, The Netherlands, next March.
