ODENSE, Denmark, Oct. 16–Nathalie zu Sayn-Wittgenstein, the reigning Danish champion, followed up her Grand Prix victory by claiming the CDI3* Grand Prix Special aboard her Olympic mount Digby at the JBK Horse Show Friday.

The World Cup qualifying classes are scheduled for Saturday and Sunday at this event, the first in the highly competitive nine-show FEI World Cup West European League series heading to the Final in ‘s-Hertogenbosch, The Netherlands, March 25-27.

In Friday’s Grand Prix Special, Fyens Stiftstidende Cup, the Danish pair scored 73.66 per cent while Sweden’s Tinne Vilhelmson Silfvén and Favourit, the 10-year-old gelding she acquired this spring, were second, as they were in the Grand Prix, on a score of 71.416 per cent.

Germany’s Sabine Becker also repeated her Grand Prix finish by coming third in the Special on her 13-year-old gelding Lamarc WRT for a score of 69.83 per cent.
