LEXINGTON, Kentucky, Sept. 22–Almost 100 competitions have been selected as qualifying events for the 2010 U.S. Equestrian Federation Young and Developing Horse Championships in the first six months across the country.
The 94 competitions for horses aged four, five and six and developing horses aged between seven and nine years are up from the 87 competitions in 2009. The increase in shows despite a slightly shorter qualification period is a reflection of the growth of the young and developing horse championships.
The qualifying period is Jan. 1 through June 30.
The championships will be held at the Lamplight Equestrian Center in Wayne, Illinois, a Chicago suburb, July 23-25, the same venue as 2009.
The Dutta Corp. and Performance Sales International will sponsor the 2010 Developing Horse Championships for the third straight year.
