DONAUESCHINGEN, Germany, Sept. 21–Two-time Dutch Olympic champion Anky van Grunsven and IPS Painted Black dominated the Grand Prix Special at the 53rd edition of the international S.D. Prince Joachim competition in Donaueschingen.
Anky and the 12-year-old Dutch stallion scored 78,792 per cent with Germany’s Dieter Laugks on Meggle’s Universe VA with 71.083 per cent second, and Ulla Salzgeber on Wakana with 70.042 per cent third.
Van Grunsven and Painted Black won the Grand Prix with a score of 73.319 per cent despite performing an extra circle, Salzgeber and Wakana were second with 72.596 per cent and Christoph Koschel on Fantomas third with 79.447 per cent.
