VERDEN, Germany, Aug. 9–Great Britain’s Emma Hindle and her 2008 Olympic mount Lancet swept the Grand Prix and the Grand Prix Special at the FEI World Breeding Championships at Verden

Displaying the strength of the British team for the European Championships at Windsor, England Aug. 25-30, Hindle and Lancet won Saturday’s Grand Prix with a score of 72.979 per cent.

The pair followed up with a victory in the Special on Sunday with 74.375 per cent.

Germany’s Monica Theodoresco on Whisper was second in the Grand Prix with 71.064 per cent and compatriot Susanne Lebek on Potomac was third with 69.574 per cent. Both riders have been named to the German team for the European Championships.

In the Special, the German finishes were reversed with Lebek and Potomac placing second on 72.083 per cent and Theodorescu and Whisper third with 71.375.

The USA’s Leslie Morse on Tip Top placed fourth with 68.167 per cent after a disappointing 12th placing with 64.085 per cent in the Grand Prix.

Mexico’s Bernadette Pujals on Vincent showed their consistency, placing fifth in both the Grand Prix with 67.830 per cent and the same placing in the Special with a score of 67.667 per cent.
