LEXINGTON, Kentucky, USA, July 14–Ten U.S. rider and horse combinations have each received a grant of $5,000 (€3,580) as part of the U.S. Equestrian Federation Developing Grant program.

The grants, disclosed Tuesday, went to Olympic veterans and to the internationally inexperienced and were focused on combinations moving to the Grand Prix level.

More than 40 applications were received for the grants that were awarded by the U.S. High Performance Dressage Committee.

“We are pleased that the sport of dressage in our country has grown to the point that we were able to receive grant applications for more than 40 horses being ridden by U.S. riders who are working to compete at the High Performance level of the sport,” said Gil Merrick, USEF Assistant Executive Director of Sport Programs.
