LEXINGTON, Kentucky, USA, June 25–The latest rankings for the 2009 National Developing Horse and Four, Five and Six-Year Olds have been released by the U.S. Equestrian Federation with just three weeks to go before entries close.
The Developing Horse championships sponsored by Dutta Corp. and Performance Sales International and the young horse championships sponsored by Markel Insurance will be held at Dressage at Lamplight, Wayne, Illinois, Aug. 21–23. Closing date for entries is July 15, but the closing date to file an application of intent is July 1.
The Developing Horse championships is for 7- to 9-year-old horses competing at the FEI Prix St. Georges level.
Cabana Boy, owned by Hilltop Farm of Colora, Maryland, and ridden by Christopher Hickey is at the top of the Developing Horse rankings on 70.405 per cent, an average from two shows in South Florida in winter. Hickey showed Cabana Boy in the recent Collecting Gaits Farm/USEF National Intermediaire 1 Championships in Gladstone, New Jersey.
In first place in the Four-Year-Olds is Aesthete owned by Betsy Spence and ridden by Karen Monks-Reilly on 8.56, in the Five-Year-Olds is San Shivago owned and ridden by Louise Koch on 8.51 and in the Six-Year-Olds is Reliance owned and ridden by Kathy Priest on 8.04.
