ROTTERDAM, The Netherlands, June 21–The giant-killing Moorlands Totilas continued his winning ways with a clean sweep at the Rotterdam CDIO.

Following the success with rider Edward Gal at the Dutch championships earlier this month, Totilas won both the Grand Prix and Grand Prix Freestyle at Rotterdam with scores of 79.15 per cent and 84.50 per cent, respectively, with Anky van Grunsven and IPZS Salinero finishing second in the Grand Prix and third in the freestyle.

Totilas is owned by Tosca and Kees Visser who are major sponsors of the Exquis World Dressage Masters series.

U.S.-based Mikala Gundersen of Denmark on the Horses Unlimited Leonberg was the top finishing foreigner in the Grand Prix Freestyle with her highest ever score of 73.95 per cent. Her success led to her being invited to compete at Aachen, Germany next week.

“Leonberg went really well and I’m thrilled with the succes we had at our first show here in Europe,” said Gundersen who is based in Wellington, Florida.

“Placing right behind all those Dutch riders in Holland is almost as good as winning to me. Actually, the freestyle score was our record so far.

“We are now back in Neumunster to prepare for Aachen next week.

“We still have plenty of work to do and I’m planning to ride an even better Grand Prix next time.

“In Aachen, we will meet all the top German riders as well and not to forget Steffen Peters so our goal is to make it to the freestyle.”
