BARTLGUT, Austria, May 17–Germany’s Ulla Salzgeber on her 10-year-old Rhinelander gelding, Herzruf’s Erbe, followed up her Grand Prix victory to claim the Grand Prix Musical Kür at the inaugural CDI3* at Bartlgut, Austria on Sunday.
The pair were awarded a score of 78.70 per cent. Ludwig Zierer of Germany and Weltino 7 were second with 72.75 per cent and Switzerland’s Marcela Krinke Susmelj on Corinth third with 72.15 per cent.
The victories by Salzgeber and Herzruf’s Erbe continue the success they attained in 2008 when they notched 10 Grand Prix victories.
On Saturday, Salzgeber and the chestnut scored 71.32 per cent. Anja Bauer-Plönzke and Le Mont d’Or of Germany were second with 69.62 per cent and Krinke Susmelj and Corinth third on 68.34 per cent.
Salzgeber and “Herzi,” as she calls the horse, have now won all three Grand Prix that they have entered so far this year, including last weekend in Turin, Italy.
In the Grand Prix on Friday, The Netherlands’ Marlis van Baalen and BMC Ojay DVB won with a score of 67.96 per cent to finish ahead of Germany’s Petra Wilm and King Arthur TSF on 67.28 per cent for second and Matthias Kempkes and Corado 47, also of Germany, in third place with 66 per cent.
In Sunday’s Grand Prix Special, Germany’s Dieter Laugks on Meggle`s Weltall VA was firstv with 70.460 per cent, Christian Pläge on Regent of Switzerland second with 68 per cent and van Baalen and BMC Ojay DVB third on 66.63 per cent.
