LAUSANNE, Switzerland, Apr. 6-Anky van Grunsven, back riding her Olympic mount, Salinero, edged up to second place in the latest FEI World Dressage Rankings. Germany’s Isabell Werth remained atop the standings with Satchmo, but on Warum Nicht dropped a spot to third place.
There was only minor shuffling among the top 15 horse and rider combinations for the rankings through to Mar. 31.
The USA’s Steffen Peters and Ravel moved up a spot to No. 6, swapping places with Monica Theodorescu and Whisper. Great Britain’s Laura Bechtolsheimer and Mistral Hojris climbed to 8th place from 10th, while The Netherlands’ Hans Peter Minderhoud and Exquis Nadine and Kyra Kyrklund and Max of Finland each dropped one place to 9th and 10th, respectively.
In the top 40 the biggest gainers were Germany’s Matthias Alexander Rather on Sterntaler-UNICEF who shot up to 16th place from 41st and The Netherlands’ Edward Gal and Sisther de Jeu jumping into the 24th spot from 86.
