BALVE, Germany, June 5, 2016–Dorothee Schneider and Showtime won the German Championships Grand Prix Freestyle Sunday, a day after the pair were named to the long list for the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro in two months.
Dorothee, 2012 Olympic team silver medal rider, and the 10-year-old Hanoverian gelding scored 86.725 per cent for the win. The pair placed second in the Championship Grand Prix Special Saturday.
Kristina Bröring-Sprehe and Desperados FRH, the world’s No. 1 combination, placed second in the Freestyle on 86.075 per cent with Isabell Werth on Emilio in third on 84.075 per cent.
Kristina and Desperados, Sönke Rothenberger and Cosmo, Dorothee and Showtime and Isabell Werth and Weihegold OLD were named to the Nations Cup at the CHIO in Aachen as the final event to decide on the team of four horses and riders to go to the Olympics.
