MUNICH, Germany, May 6, 2016–German Olympic rider Dorothee Schneider rode Showtime to a personal best score to capture the Pferd International CDI5* Grand Prix Friday, while Isabell Werth riding Emilio in only their fourth CDI Grand Prix also posted their highest mark so far to place third.
Dorothee and the 10-year-old Hanoverian gelding (Sandro Hit x Rotspon) that began Big Tour in June 2015 scored 77.520 per cent and put the pair in contention for her nation’s team to go to Rio de Janeiro for the summer Olympics.
Spain’s European Championship individual bronze medal combination of Beatriz Ferrer-Salat on Delgado was awarded 76.760 per cent for second place.
Isabell Werth, competing Emilio in only their fourth show since starting CDI Grand Prix last September, was close behind on 76.460 per cent that also was a personal best. Emilio and Weihegold OLD are among the two mounts that Isabell is campaigning for Rio after she disclosed that Don Johnson FRH and Bella Rose were still recovering from injuries and would not be ready to campaign for Rio.
