Sagacious HF was ridden by Caroline Roffman on Sunday in their first Grand Prix in Europe, a national show in France, ahead of becoming the first American to ride in the Under-25 Division at the World Equestrian Festival in Aachen, Germany in three weeks.
Caroline of Wellington, Florida received a score of 70.8 per cent from the panel of three judges in the Grand Prix at the Concours de Dressage at Les Grands Parcs that substituted for a warmup event in France two weeks ago that had to be scrubbed when the horse suffered the effects of travel.
Sagacious, a 14-year-old KWPN gelding (Welt Hit II x Cocktail) competed in the Intermediate II on Saturday for a score of 71+ per cent.
Caroline took over the ride on Sagacious late last year. The horse won team gold and individual silver when ridden by Lauren Sammis at the 2007 Pan American Games at small tour.
