VIDAUBAN, France. Mar. 3–Carl Hester rode Dances With Wolves to victory in the Grand Prix Special Sunday to give the British Olympic gold medalist three wins in four starts at the top level of the Vidauban CDI3* Spring Tour.
In their first CDI at Grand Prix Carl and the 11-year-old Oldenburg gelding (Donnerschwee x Waldfee x Walldorf) scored 74.479 per cent to narrowly beat Spain’s Beatriz Ferrer-Salat and Delgado who were awarded 74.188 per cent. Belgium’s Claudia Fassaert and Donnerfee were third on 70.625 per cent.
The finish in the Special reversed the order of the Grand Prix when Beatriz and Delgado were te winners and Carl and Dances With Wolves second.
In the Freestyle side of the first of two weeks of the Spring Tour, Carl and Fine Time won both the Grand Prix and the musical performance.
