DEVON, Pennsylvania, Sept. 28, 2024–USA’s Kevin Kohmann on Dünensee narrowly won the World Cup Grand Prix Freestyle Saturday night in the first North American qualifier for the Final in Switzerland next April.

Kevin and the 15-year-old Hanoverian gelding, the 2024 World Cup Final partnership, were awarded 77.540% for the win that earned the pair the maximum of 20 points in the first of 10 North American qualifiers.

Just a fraction behind was Canada’s Camille Carier Bergeron on Finnländerin, the 14-year-old Oldenburg mare that she rode on her nation’s team at the Paris Olympics, on a personal best 77.280%. The rider earned 17 points.

Christina Morin-Graham of Malvern, Pennsylvania in her first Big Tour musical performance on the 15-year-old DSP Dauphin placed third on 74.785%.

Kevin and Dünensee were one of three combinations from the United States that competed at the World Cup Final in Saudi Arabia last April. The pair later competed at Munich, Germany and Rotterdam, Netherlands. He is based in Wellington, Florida at Diamante Farm, the owner of Dünensee.

Camille rode Finnländerin on her nation’s team at the Paris Olympics two months ago.

Ali Potasky of Versailles, Kentucky riding the 11-year-old Inxs in the pair’s first Big Tour competition won the CDI3* Grand Prix Special on 69.638%.

Tina Konyot on the 10-year-old KWPN gelding Grover was runner-up on 68.851%.

The next World Cup qualifier is scheduled for TerraNova in Florida Oct. 17-20.
