ORNAGO, Italy, June 3, 2022–Simone Pearce rode Fiderdance to victory in the CDI3* Grand Prix Friday to earn the rider the second of two qualifying scores for the Australian team for the world championships in two months.
Simone and the 13-year-old Oldenburg stallion scored 70.587% in only the second competition for the partnership since the rider moved to Gestüt Bonhomme the stud that owns Fiderdance, from Gestüt Sprehe a month ago. Simone attained a result on Fiderdance of 69.761% in their inaugural Grand Prix two weeks ago.
Simone had achieved Australian team qualifying scores of 69% on Sprehe’s Destano, her Tokyo Olympic mount, that ranked the pair third for Australia behind Lyndal Oatley, also based in Germany, on Elvive and Eros standing first and second, respectively.
Alexandre Ayache of France and Jolene, a 10-year-old Danish Warmblood mare, placed second on 68.913%.
Switzerland’s Antonella Joannou and Dandy de la Roche CMF CH, a 17-year-old Swiss Warmblood gelding, was awarded 68.761% for third.
