WELLINGTON, Florida, Mar. 7, 2022–Frederic Wandres, the German team rider competing at the Global Dressage Festival for the second winter, maintains his lead in prize money earnings after five international events.

Riders from 13 nations on four continents shared in the top 50 earnings that included Frederic with $30,300 and Belgium’s Laurence Vanommeslaghe on $24,400 with the 22-year-old Benjamin Ebeling of Moorpark, California standing third on $20,600.

The attraction of the South Florida circuit of seven CDIs in sub tropical weather over three months of winter is perhaps shown by the return of Juan Matute Guimón to the home of his upbringing in Wellington to win $19,000 in a couple of weeks and possibly earn a start at the World Cup Final next month. Juan is coached by his three-time Spanish Olympian father. Juan rides for Spain though he also has American citizenship.

Great Britain’s Susan Pape and Tinne Vilhelmson Silfvén, a seven-time Olympian for Sweden, both veterans on the Florida circuit were tied for fifth place with $15,000.

Charlotte Jorst of Reno, Nevada was rewarded with $13,500 success on Kastel’s Nintendo, the horse she has competed for eight years on both sides of the Atlantic that is nearing the end of his competition career at the age of 19.

Adrienne Lyle, America’s Olympic and world championship silver medalist with Salvino, remained at $13,000 from their only performance since the Tokyo Games, tied with German world and European championship rider Christoph Koschel.

Jennifer Williams of Olympia, Washington who led the standings after two CDIs was ranked 10th with $12,285.
