WELLINGTON, Florida, Feb. 10, 2022–Adrienne Lyle and Nexolia’s Glenn S & S made their competition debut Thursday in a national Intermediate II at the Global Dressage Festival that was focused on building confidence in the 11-year-old as a successor to her Olympic and world championship silver medal mount, Salvino.

Adrienne based in Wellington and the KWPN gelding (Ampere x San Brentano) were awarded 72.352% by two FEI judges to win the FEI test of choice competition.

Adrienne has been developing Glenn, owned, Canadian businesswoman Vicky Lavoie, over the past year with a big break over last summer to earn a silver medal on the United States team at the Tokyo Olympics.

“I am really pleased with Glenn and thankful to his owner, Vicky LaVoie, for allowing me to work with him! ” Adrienne said after the ride with coaching from her long time mentor Debbie McDonald.

“There were parts in our test today that gave a very good feel with lots of power. He is green to the Grand Prix work so there are still lots of parts that need to get more solidified but overall I was really happy.

“Glenn is an introvert and it takes him time to gain confidence, so that’s all I am focusing on now… giving him rides that will help him feel secure and grow in confidence in the arena. As always, big thank you to my amazing coach, Debbie McDonald.”

Also watching the ride was Andreas Helgstrand who sold Glenn and some other top horses to Vicky, who also competes.

Adrienne plans to return Salvino, owned by Betsy Juliano, to competition in the Global CDI5* in two weeks seeking to be among about eight rider and horse combinations to go to Europe after the California and Florida winter circuits for selection of the American team for the world championships in Herning, Denmark in August.
