OCALA, Florida, Dec. 10, 2021–Pablo Gomez Molina rode Ulises de Ymas to victory in the World Equestrian Center CDI3* Grand Prix Freestyle Friday for the Spanish rider’s first Big Tour victory.
Pablo and the 11-year-old P.R.E. gelding were awarded 75.640% for the win, beating their only previous Grand Prix Freestyle result of 73.605% at this same show grounds in October. The pair’s second place finish in the Grand Prix Thursday was their highest placing in nine Big Tour starts to that point.
Tyra Vernon and Ruben placed second on 69.130% with Jacqueline MacDonald and Malcarat third on 68.385%
Pablo, 27, is based in Wellington, Florida but competes the Ymas horses extensively on both sides of the Atlantic, including the 2016 and 2018 European Under-25 Championships. He has competed Ulises internationally since the horse was seven years old, at Small Tour in Europe in 2018 and began Big Tour at Wellington’s Global Dressage Festival last March.
