THERMAL, California, Oct. 23, 2021–Günter Seidel and Equirelle won the Desert Dressage CDI3* Grand Prix Special Saturday while fellow Californian Jan Ebeling on States Royal OLD took the World Cup Grand Prix Freestyle that had only two starting combinations.
Günter of Cardiff and the 12-year-old KWPN mare that have competed at Big Tour for almost two years scored 71.490% for the win, the fourth victory for the pair this year.
Carly Taylor-Smith of Somis, California on Rosalut NHF was second on 70.979%, far surpassing the only other Special result of 65.319% in May this year. The pair won the Grand Prix Friday.
Jan Ebeling of Moorpark, California on Indeed was third on 67.234%.
Jan rode Royal Status OLD, 11-year-old Oldenburg gelding, in the World Cup Freestyle for a score of 71.065%.
Missy Gilliland on Toledano XXXI, the only other competitor, was awarded 66.555%.
