VERDEN, Germany, Aug. 28, 2021–The black stallion Kjento was ridden by Great Britain’s Charlotte Fry to win World Six-Year-Old Championship gold Saturday on a score of 96.000%. The American-owned Escamillo ridden by Manuel Dominguez Bernal of Spain took silver with Poland’s Beata Stremler riding For Magic Equesta to bronze.
“Wow! I mean, ‘Really Wow!” declared Peter Storr in speaking for the panel of four judges at the end of the performance by the KWPN stallion (Negro x Jazz) and the 25-year-old British Olympic rider.
The pair received marks of 10 for trot, canter, submission and perspective with a score of eight for the walk being the only exception to the maximum.
Escamillo, a Rhinelander stallion (Escolar x Rhodiamant) and ridden by Manuel Dominguez Bernal of Spain, took silver on 93.400% with marks of 9.2 for trot, 9.5 for walk, 9 for canter and 9.5 for both submission and perspectuve.
The stallion is owned by Kimberley Davis-Slous of Wrightstown, New Jersey. Escamillo is a popular breeding stallion who had success in young stallion shows with German team rider Helen Langehanenberg.
For Magic Equesta, a Hanoverian gelding (For Romance x A Jungle Prince) earned bronze ridden by Beata for a score of 86.400%.
