Louis D’Or, the Grand Prix mount for Britain’s Henriette Andersen for seven years, has been put down at the age of 23.
Horse & Hound magazine reported that the Danish Warmblood gelding suffered from laminitis.
Louis was imported from Denmark at three years old and Henriette began competing him at international Grand Prix in 2007.
Highlights of their partnership were appearances at London’s Olympia in 2009, 2010 and 2011 and Horses & Dreams at Hagen, Germany in 2011.
The final dressage competition for Louis D’Or was at Barcelona, Spain in 2014.
