Kiichi Harada has ridden Egistar to more success at Wellington’s Adequan Global Dressage than anywhere else outside Japan with two successive victories in his campaign to make his nation’s second Olympic team.

Kiichi and Egistar, a 15-year-old KWPN gelding, were on Japan’s team at the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro and the 2018 World Equestrian Games in Tryon.

Working with team coach Christoph Koschel of Germany, Kiichi and Egistar returned to Wellington this year to prepare for the Olympics in his homeland. The pair competed at Global in 2018.
