ERMELO, Netherlands, Aug. 5, 2018–Charlotte Fry showed her passion in riding Glamourdale to victory in the World Breeding Championship for seven-year-old horses Sunday, from tears of joy for her performance in the qualifier to smiles and enthusiastically sharing the moment with her partner.
On the KWPN stallion (Lord Leatherdale x Negro), the 22-year-old rider from Great Britain scored 87.050 per cent for the gold.
Dutch star Adelinde Cornelissen on Governor-Str took silver on 84.143 per cent with Norway’s Isabel Freese on Fuersten-Look the bronze on 84.036 per cent.
Charlotte works with Van Olst Horses in the Netherlands that also owns Glamourdale.
She has competed at international championships for the past nine years–European Pony Championships in 2010, European Junior Championships in 2013 and 2014 then European Young Riders in 2015. She made her first appearance at the World Young Horse Championships for the first time in 2016, competing in the five-year-old division then returning in 2017 with horses in all three divisions, five-, six- and seven-year-olds. She also competed in the European Young Rider Championships a few weeks later.
Charlotte brought Glamourdale to these world championships after one CDI young horse show for preparation, at Leudelange, Luxembourg last month where she won both the preliminary and final competitions.
