BOGOTÁ, Colombia, July 24, 2018–Mexico won the Central American and Caribbean Games Nations Cup gold Tuesday while Yvonne Losos de Muñiz on Fredensdal’s Zig Zag was the leading individual partnership to lead the Dominican Republic to silver. Guatemala earned bronze.

Monica Burssens Alonso on Elfentanz clinched the team gold as the top finishing pair for Mexico on a score of 70.618 per cent and second individually in the Intermediate 1 Tuesday. Mariana Quintana Rivero on Benzema led the team in the first stage Prix St. Georges with a result of 70.735 per cent.

Yvonne and Zig Zag, a 10-year-old Danish Warmblood gelding owned by Kathy Priest of the United States, won the Prix St. Georges on 74.088 per cent and were victorious in the Inter. 1 on 72.647 per cent.

The final team standings: 1. Mexico 411.738; 2. Dominican Republic 401.852; 3. Guatemala 307.264; 4. Colombia 395.088; 5. Costa Rica 375.765.

The Intermediate Freestyle on Thursday will decide individual medals while the combinations with best scores from the three competitions will earn medals for overall results.
