HAGEN, Germany, April 28, 2018–Kristina Bröring-Sprehe and Desperados FRH won the Horses & Dreams CDI4* Grand Prix Freestyle Saturday, edging out Spain’s Severo Jurado Lopez riding Deep Impact to their first result of 80 per cent.
Kristina and the 17-year-old Hanoverian stallion scored 83.850 per cent for the first musical performance by the German Olympic team gold medal combination since November, 2016 that was the last show before taking a 16-month injury timeout.
The 31-year-old rider and the black stallion (De Niro x Wolkenstein II) began their international Grand Prix partnership almost seven years ago and competed for Germany at the 2012 Olympics, 2014 World Equestrian Games and the 2016 Rio Olympics. The pair were also at the European Championships in 2013 and 2015. The pair were ranked No. in the world for nine months in 2016 and are seeking yo go to the World Games in Tryon, North Carolina in September.
Severo Jurado Lopez and Deep Impact, a 15-year-old Hanoverian gelding in the second year at Big Tour, scored 80.025 per cent that was the first result of 80 per cent for the pair that competed for Spain at the European Championships last year. The duo also placed second in the Grand Prix, on a personal best score of 75.152 per cent.
Patrik Kittel of Sweden and Delaunay OLD were third on 79.875 per cent.
