BONEO, Australia, Jan. 27, 2018–Brett Parbery and DP Weltmieser won the World Cup league final Grand Prix Saturday in the campaign to earn a single starting place from Down Under at the Paris championship in April.
Brett and the Australian-bred 15-year-old gelding scored 70.696 per cent, the only combination above 70 per cent.
Mary Hanna and Boogie Woogie, the highest Australian pair on the world rankings at No. 78, were second on 68.509 per cent.
Shannan Goodwin on Aristede placed third on 68.478 per cent.
The winner of Sunday’s freestyle will get an invitation to go to Paris as one of 18 starters in the annual World Cup final.
