CEDAR VALLEY, Ontario, June 18, 2017–Jacqueline Brooks and D Niro won the Kawartha Lake CDI3* Grand Prix Freestyle Sunday for the first back-to-back musical performance victories in six years of Big Tour competition.
Jacqueline and the Swedish Warmblood gelding now 18 years old scored 72.225 per cent for the win that came four weeks after a freestyle victory in Ottawa with a score of 72.400 per cent.
The combination, best known for performing to a medley of music composed by Canadians including Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah,” competed at the London 2012 Olympics and the 2013 World Cup Final in Gothenburg, Sweden near D Niro’s birth place.
Esther Mortimer of Guatemala and Diamond Geezer placed second on 67.625 per cent with Elizabeth Steacie on Callahan third on 65.600 per cent.
