Neil Ishoy, Canadian dressage trainer and rider who also competed at championship eventing has died at the age of 56.

Neil focused on training and had not competed internationally since 2009. He competed Andiamo Tyme at the 2002 World Cup Final.

He was married to Cindy Ishoy, the three-time Canadian Olympian and team bronze medalist.

Niel was a former eventing competitor who represented Canada at the 1980 Alternate Olympics and the 1982 World Championships.

He and Cindy operated a dressage training and sales business at Hannon, Ontario.

He is survived by Cindy and chidren Zack and Kahla.
