DARMSTADT, Germany, Aug. 23, 2015–Sönke Rothenberger posted his first victory on Favourit Sunday to take the Darmstadt CDI4* Grand Prix Freestyle for a German sweep of the top three places.
Sönke who a year ago took over the ride on Favourit, a Rhinelander gelding now 16 years old, scored 75.675 per cent for the win.
Dorothee Schneider on UllrichEquine’s St. Emilion was second on 73.235 per cent and Uta Graf on Dandelion OLD third on 71.650 per cent.
Dorothee and St. Emilion, a 10-year-old Westfalen gelding, won the Grand Prix earlier on 75.580 per cent with Sönke and Favourit second on 73.400 per cent and his sister, Sanneke Rothenberger on Deveraux OLD third on 71.960 per cent. Sanneke rode Favourit for a year before Sönke took on the ride.
Sanneke and Deveraux took the Grand Prix Special with 73.647 per cent with Charlott-Marie Schürmann on Burlington FRH second on 72.745 per cent per cent and Brigitte Wittig on Brioni W third on 71.020 per cent.
