‘S-HERTOGENBOSCH, Netherlands, April 20–Jerich Parzival passed the veterinary re-inspection Friday four hours before the start of the Grand Prix at the World Cup Final in which The Dutch pair are defending champions.

The event was stunned Thursday when the 15-year-old KWPN chestnut gelding (Jazz x Fidora x Ulft) who with Adelinde is the top ranked combination in the world, failed the veterinary check that is an essential requirement for all international competitions.

The horse was ridden by Adelinde after Thursday’s vet check and again Friday morning before the re-inspetionAdelinde and Parzival will start second in the Grand Prix, unusual for a top ranked pair but the draw for starting positions was open for the first time, meaning that the numbers were drawn from a basket instead of being broken into small groups determined by world rankings.
