KRONBERG, Germany, July 21–Germans Stella-Charlotte Roth on Royal Diva and Louisa Lüttgen on Habitus were tied at the top of the European Dressage Young Rider Championships after the first day of competition Wednesday.

Their scores of 71.895 per cent put Germany in a strong position heading into the second day of team competition with riders from 12 nations competing in the championships.

In the individual competition, Denmark’s Camilla Orloff on Utah was in 3rd place, The Netherlands’ Robin Beekink and Pablo and Michelle van Lanen and Incredible in 4th and 5th places, respectively, and Denmark’s Anne Katrine Elkjaer-Holm on Bernstein Las Marshes in 6th spot.

In the first day of the Junior championships, Stefanie Kooijman of The Netherlands on Winston was in first place ahead of Germans Florine Kienbaum on Good Morning and Stephanie Holkenbrink on Show Star tied for second. Holland’s Anne Meulendijks on Ohio was in 4th place, Alexandra Barbancon Mestre on Spain on Mr Q 5th and Julie Van Olst Belgium on No Problem lying 6th.
