OTTAWA, Ontario, Mar. 24–Three-time Canadian Olympian Ashley Holzer has been named Dressage Canada Red Scarf Equestrian Athlete of the Month for February.

Holzer, who lives in New York, and her 2008 Olympic partner Pop Art were fourth in the Exquis World Dressage Masters CDI5* Grand Prix and the Grand Prix Freestyle at the Palm Beach International Equestrian Center, in Wellington, Florida, in February.

Holzer and Pop Art (Amsterdam x Cabochon), a 13-year-old Dutch Warmblood gelding owned by Rusty Holzer and Moreen Nicoll, score of 72.468 per cent in the Grand Prix. The pair was just 0.085 per cent behind the third place finisher, 2008 Olympic individual silver medalist Isabel Werth and Satchmo 78 of Germany riding her Olympic mount Satchmo 78 to a score of 72.553 per cent.

Two days later the Holzer and Pop Art scored 76.300 per cent for fourth place in the Grand Prix Freestyle.

Dressage Canada Red Scarf Equestrian Athlete of the Month is a recognition program that celebrates the achievements of Canadian dressage riders who represent Canada in national and international competition at the FEI Pony, Children, Junior, Young Rider, Advanced, Grand Prix and Young Horses classes.
