TRYON, North Carolina, Sept. 13, 2018–Carl Hester rode Hawtins Delicato to the top of the World Equestrian Games individual leaderboard and Great Britain to lead the team standings with a personal best Grand Prix score of 77.283 per cent Thursday.

Carl on the British-bred 10-year-old Hanoverian rode a relaxed almost flawless test in only the third international competition since the horse began Big Tour four months ago.

Charlotte Dujardin and Mount St. John Freestyle for Great Britain, Sönke Rothenberger and Cosmo and Isabell Werth on Bella Rose for Germany as well as America’s Laura Graves on Verdades and Kasey Perry-Glass on Dublet were still to go Thursday to decide the team medals.
