Brett Parbery, the reigning Australian Grand Prix dressage champion, and the architecture-award winning Willinga Park equestrian center on Tuesday announced a partnership aimed at boosting horse sports Down Under.
Brett, whose equestrian experience includes camp drafting, polocrosse and rodeo as well as world championship dressage, will relocate to Willinga Park located on the Pacific coast 155 miles/250km south of Sydney.
The facility on 2,000 acres/800ha includes an Australian Stock Horse breeding and training program staged its first CDI this year and has scheduled a CDI3* for next February.
Terry Snow, Willinga Park owner, described Brett as “ideally suited to the Willinga Park philosophy. He is a formidable horseman and rider, with the ability and the smarts to take Australian dressage to the podium.
“This is an opportunity to seriously launch Australian dressage into a more competitive program. The partnership ambition is to have regular international judges providing assessments and monitoring performance of Australian horses against the world, and to have European dressage coaches regularly attend the facility. This will also be available to other high-performance riders.”
