WELLINGTON, Florida, Oct. 6, 2017–Janne Rumbough rode Junior, the 15-year-old Andalusian gelding, to the bronze medal in the United States Dressage Federation regional championship Grand Prix for adult amateurs at the Palm Beach International Equestrian Center Friday.

Janne, 73 years old of Palm Beach, was competing on the offspring of Gaucho III, the stallion that was bought from Spain by her husband of 27 years, Stanley M. Rumbough, as a surprise gift.

Janne, born in Denmark but an American citizen, has shown Junior from breed classes through the levels to Big Tour, focusing this year on adult amateur events.

Stan died at their Palm Beach home last week at the age of 97.

The adult amateur Grand Prix in the championships for the southeast United States was won by Heather Boo of Loxahatchee, Florida on Divertimento on a score of 67.850 per cent. The 15-year-old Westfalen gelding was competed at Big Tour on both sides of the Atlantic by Swedish multi Olympian Tinne Vilhelmson Silfvén from 2011 until mid-2015 then by Canada’s Chris von Martels in North America and Europe in 2016.
