HARTPURY, England, July 9, 2017–Spencer Wilton and Super Nova II won the CDI3* Grand Prix Special Sunday for the sixth victory for the partnership this year.

Spencer and the British-bred 14-year-old Hanoverian gelding, on Great Britain’s Olympic silver medal team in Rio de Janeiro last summer, scored 77.020 per cent that came two days after winning the Grand Prix with a personal best 78.820 per cent. The personal best Special result for Spencer and Super Nova was 78.353 per cent at Compiègne, France in May.

The duo, ranked No. 17 in the world, have logged the highest Grand Prix and Grand Prix Special scores of any British combination so far this year with two months to go to the European Championships in Gothenburg, Sweden.

British combinations Lara Butler on Rubin al Asad placed second on  76.176 per cent and Gillian Davison on Alfranco in third on 71.745 per cent, personal best scores for both combinations.
