HARTPURY, England, July 7, 2017–Great Britain’s Olympic team silver medal pair Spencer Wilton and Super Nova II posted a personal best score to win the CDI3* Grand Prix Friday, the fifth victory for the partnership this year.
Spencer and the British-bred 14-year-old Hanoverian gelding scored 78.820 per cent that surpassed their previous best Grand Prix result of 77.500 per cent set at this same show a year ago and that earned the pair a place on his nation’s Olympic team. One judge, Isobell Wessels of Great Britain, awarded the pair 80.100 per cent.
In six starts so far this year, Spencer and Super Nova have won five times, including a personal best Grand Prix Special in France in May.
Fellow British riders Richard Davison on Bubblingh also logged a personal best of 73.160 per cent in placing second while Gareth Hughes on Don Carissimo also produced a high of 73.080 per cent for third.
